Server Rules & Guidelines
Everything you need to know about playing on Lakehead SMP. Follow these guidelines to ensure a great experience for everyone.
General Behavior
Community First
Do not play single-player on a multiplayer server. Our primary goal is to create an active, sustainable community where no one feels the need to isolate themselves or retreat to the world border just to avoid grief or theft. We take protection seriously, so if anything is wrong, whether it's a chest of diamonds or a single dirt block, feel free to raise a ticket. We can investigate and take action accurately to make it right. Please reach out rather than isolating yourself; going solo is a sure way to kill the SMP experience!
Zero Tolerance
Hate speech, harassment, or discrimination based on race, gender, or any other characteristic is prohibited (immediate ban).
No Advertising or Spam
No advertising other servers, services, or products in chat or Discord. No spamming.
PvP Consent
PVP is only allowed when both parties verbally consent to the fight. (Both parties sending a message in chat agreeing to the fight is a good way to prevent future misunderstandings.)
Nether Roof
Only farms allowed in the nether roof.
Respect & Fairness
Treat everyone with respect and always be kind to each other, whether it's your friend or a stranger. Sarcasm or humor is never an excuse to pass insensitive comments or say anything hurtful. Do not try to exploit other's kindness - A lot of people here are very nice and warm, do not try to take advantage of that to beg for items, or ask for things that you know they wouldn't want to say no to. NO ONE IS BEYOND THE RULES - Including the Mods, Admin, Owner and other staff - We require you guys to hold everyone up to the same standard!
Building & Privacy
Don't build within 100 blocks of another player without their permission. (Use the Banner Marker feature and area marking feature for better visibility) All entities at a player's base must be assumed private and not for public use. (example, animal farms, villager halls, wandering traders etc)
Server Performance
Attempts to lag the server are punishable, whether by stacking insane amounts of entities in a chunk, using update suppression devices, chunk bans, etc.
Communication
Avoid sensitive and controversial topics This is a space for fun and creativity, not a platform for debates about politics, religion, morals, or sexuality (etc). Keep all conversations in english and inside the discord/MC server Do not DM anyone unless they want you to and we suggest that all SMP related things are dealt within the discord server. Spreading misinformation about the server, other real-world events, or trying to discredit and defame any of the SMP members/Staff is punishable.
Griefing
Property Protection
Don't damage any builds, public or private property. This also means no creeper holes, random dirt pillars, floating trees, or ugly structures. (Looking at you, Mr. Huge Farms with leftover netherrack, cobblestone, and diorite in the middle of spawn.) You are responsible for damages caused by you, even if unintentional Inform the owner immediately and offer to clean up for them.
Pranking Guidelines
Prank responsibly - all pranks should be reasonable and done in good faith. We can tell if something is a prank or intentional griefing. Offer to clean up for them. It helps if you report the prank to the admins beforehand.
Container Rules
Destroying chests in any public structure is considered griefing. (Please empty the chest entirely, leaving no item behind when looting, but don't break it so the loot can regenerate for the next person. You're free to throw out the junk if you don't want it.) All storage containers (Chests, Shulker Boxes, Barrels, item frames) are considered private unless specifically mentioned otherwise. Nothing should be assumed or taken for granted. Taking what's not yours will be counted as theft and will result in punishment.
Cheating
Prohibited
- Using mods, scripts, or any methods to gain an unfair advantage over others is strictly forbidden
- Mods or addons that automate gameplay are strictly forbidden, including baritone, litematica easy place, litematica printer extensions, auto fish, auto mine, etc.
- Any attempt at cracking the server seed will result in an immediate ban
- Any attempt at bypassing the server's AFK kicker using scripts, macros, auto relog modules will also result in a ban
What's Allowed
- Fair Play version of minimaps and world maps
- Optimization Mods (Sodium, Lithium, Starlight, etc.)
- Replay Mod
- FreeCam (Exploitation of free cam for resource or structure hunting isn't allowed)
- Litematica
- Render Distance Mods (Distant Horizons, Bobby, etc.)
- Non X-Ray Texture Packs (Faithful, Stay True, PureBDCraft, etc.)
If you're in doubt about a mod, feel free to ping the staff or create a ticket
Duping / Exploits
Prohibited Duping
NO DUPES EXCEPT FOR TNT (So string, sand, concrete, dragon eggs, gravel, rails, carpet shall not be duped. TNT dupe is the only exception.) Update suppression devices are NOT allowed and are considered lag machines.
TNT Duping
TNT dupers should be used responsibly. All TNT dupers should be turned off when not in use and should be used in reasonable numbers. (Try not to unleash 5 TNT Duping Flying machines when there are more than 10 people online.)
What's Allowed
- Breaking bedrock is allowed
- TNT duping as mentioned above
- 1 Chunk Loader per player
- Abusing any unintended mechanics, exploits or bugs without reporting them is punishable
Shop Rules
Shop Limits
Each player is temporarily allowed to have only one shop. Please be reasonable with the variety of items sold in a single shop. For example, a shop selling bee nests, honey bottles, and honeycombs is fine, but a shop selling iron ingots, honey bottles, and stone blocks is not. Essentially, each shop should focus on a single category of products or items.
Approval Process
Before building your shop, create a ticket via 🤝┃support and list your shop idea to get it approved. Once your shop is approved, you can post your ad in 🏪┃shops. The ad should include details like the coordinates and a list of items sold.
Shop Locations
Players can build their shop anywhere they like, whether at their base or any separate location in the world. If you'd like your shop to be part of a greater district, feel free to build it at spawn aka the bazar. The bazar region is dedicated to shops only - Farms, Bases are NOT allowed within this region.
